1. NAME OF THE SOCIETY
The name of the Society shall be the “Indian Association of lawyers”.
2.REGISTERED OFFICE
The Registered Office of the Society shall be situated in the Union Territory of Delhi and at present it is at the following address: 17, Lawyers Chamber, Supreme Court, New Delhi-110001
3.OBJECTS
1. To bring together lawyers, judges and law teachers to promote, develop and strengthen endeavours for the speedy evolution of a democratic socialist society in India.
2. To promote and strengthen the efforts for ensuring social justice to the people of India.
3. To promote, develop and strengthen the movement for free legal aid to the indigent and to ensure an ever-increasing participation of lawyers in the movement.
4. To undertake socio-legal research on law for the progress and speedy development of the country.
5. To defend democratic rights and liberties in the practice of law.
6. To inculcate among people a sense of devotion to fundamental duties.
7. To suggest ways and means to reorganise the legal profession to subserve the above objects
8. To promote the independence of all people and to oppose any restriction on this independence whether in law or in practice.
9. To encourage, in the realm of law, the study and practice of the principles of democracy and socialism and peaceful co-existence for the maintenance of peace and cooperation between nations.
10. To strengthen the efforts for the recognition and implementation of human rights.
11. To defend, promote and develop human and paople’s rights and liberties in legislation and practice.
12. To promote preservation of ecology and healthy environment.
13. To struggle for strict adherence to rule of law and independence of judiciary and legal profession.
14. To defend people’s right to development and creation of condition of economic equality, enjoyment of fruits of scientific progress and natural resources.
4. All the income, earnings, moveable and/or immovable properties of the Society shall be utilised and applied towards the promotion of its aims and objects only as set forth in this Memorandum of Association and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly by way of dividend, bonus, profit or in any manner, whatsoever, to the present or past members of the Society or to any person or persons claiming through anyone or more of the present or the past members. No members of the society shall have any personal claim on any moveable and/or immovable properties of the Society or make any profits, whatsoever, by virtue of its membership.
5. GOVERNING BODY
The names, address, occupations and designations of the present members of the Executive Committee to whom the management of the Society is entrusted required under Section 2 of the Societies Registration Act 1860 as applicable to the Union Territory of Delhi are as follows:-

We. The undersigned, are desirous of forming a Society namely the ,Indian Association of Lawyers’ under Societies Registration Act of 1860, as Applicable to the Union territory of Delhi in pursuance of this Memorandum of Association of the Society:-
